The Ford Focus RS has grown far from its roots as a 120 hp hatchback for college students. From its long lineage of the RS series, the Focus Rallye Sport does not disappoint. Hailed as “God’s Hatchback”, the Focus RS stays true to its legendary ancestors such as the Escort RS2000 and RS200 Evolution. Although not used in WRC anymore, the 2017 RS is a refreshing breather from Ford’s underpowered economy cars or massive trucks. Pushing out 350 horsepower aided by torque vectoring, the car is by no means underpowered nor boring on the road. However, the car is not all perfect. Ford issued a recall over faulty gaskets and customers of the car have complained about the over-stiffness of the Recaro seats and suspension. The RS is also notorious for its horrible turning radius and awkward artificial sounding engine noise. Nonetheless, the focus outweighs all of its negatives with amazing technology packed into a tiny chassis rivaling that of the Mercedes A45 AMG and the Audi RS3 hatch.
