The Aston Martin Vantage is simply put, the paramount of British ingenuity and design. The Vantage, for its time, was considered a rocket, carrying its driver from 0–60 in a mere 5.2 seconds with a top speed of 170 miles per hour. With the emergence of British engineering in the racing world, Aston Martin blew the competition out of the water; it would be considered the fastest 4-seater production car in the world, and the first British supercar ever made. The V8 vantage’s design, however, has an obvious inspiration: The Ford Mustang. Comparing the two, the Vantage exudes a much more powerful, sleek, and composed design, opposed to the Ford’s muscular and brash lines. The Vantage holds a historic place in British automotive engineering as a starting point for Aston Martin’s future career.
