The Honda Civic, although not an American Car, has become an iconic figure in America’s “bang for a buck” vehicle segment. In fact, the Civic is as of today the second most bought car in America. However, Its roots and success lie in the origin of its creation in 1972. The 1972 Honda Civic was a new efficient way of transportation, perfectly suited for the common man. In the wake of the International Oil Crisis of 1973, the fuel-sipping civic deemed perfect for the steep rates of oil. The Civic’s new CVCC engine was perfectly suited for the times, as it did not require unleaded fuel or a catalytic converter due to its efficient combustion. The Civic’s place in history as an affordable economy car has been passed down through generations and finally lays in the hands of the new 2020 Honda Civic.
